1 1/2 cups boiling water
1 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup chopped peanuts
In a 1 1/2 quart casserole dish, pour the boiling water and then add the brown sugar. Stir until the sugar is dissolved. Put into hot oven to return to a boil.
In a bowl mix all the dry ingredients. Pour in the melted butter and the milk and beat until smooth. Add the vanilla, raisins and peanuts. Mix. Gently drop the batter into the hot syrup in your baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees F. for about 40 minutes. Sticky and good.
