2 medium onions, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
2 cups canned tomatoes
1/2 pound round steak
1 teaspoon sugar
1 pinch ground cloves
1/2 dried chili
salt and pepper

Brown the onions lightly in a little fat, then put in a casserole dish. Brown the meat on both sides – put it in with the onions. Add chopped pepper, tomatoes, salt. Pepper, sugar, cloves and chili. Cover and cook gently (300-350) for about 1-1/2 hours. Before serving, cut steak into serving pieces. Serve hot with a side salad and creamy whipped potatoes.
